Jane Thropp Sportsmanship Award

Every year, this award is given to an individual who demonstrates good, solid sportsmanship on and off the agility course. This award was named in memory of a special club member, Jane Thropp. Jane enjoyed participating in dog sports so much with her Corgies, that she would come to class and then rush home to get hooked up to a dialysis machine. Jane never complained and was the epitome of sportsmanship. The recipients of the award are nominated and selected by club members.

Junior Handler Scholarship Awards

In the spring of 2007, a newly-formed Junior Handler's committee met and drafted the guidelines for the Junior Handler Scholarship. After approval from the membership, the scholarship was put in place for Jumping Chollas junior members who were training at the Intermediate level or higher. Students were requested to submit an essay which was reviewed by an advisory council. The first annual 2008 Junior Handler Scholarship was awarded to two students to further their participation an deducation in the sport of canine agility. The scholarship will be funded by the raffle, fun runs, and donations and well be awarded annually as funds permit. Congratulations to all participants and recipients.
