We were very very saddened to learn that long-time JCAC member and recent Club Treasurer, Lisa Hansen, passed away in December 2021 after battling breast cancer for 5 years. She was passionate about agility and was always seen helping out and competing at our trials, along with her husband Mike and their dogs. She is greatly missed by all who knew her. Our deepest sympathies to her family and friends. RIP Lisa.

Wow, what a wonderful weekend @ WestWorld. The NATCH-Appalooza trial was a huge success with almost 1300 runs. We had 3 jam packed days of nothing but fun for dogs and handlers. Can’t wait till next year. Thanks to Scott Casino for coming out to judge and designing some wonderful courses for us to run all weekend. It was an absolute pleasure having Scott judge our new style event. Thanks to all of the Trial Officials; CCB’s Mike & Craig, Trial Secretary Wendy, CRS’s Amanda, Beth, Julie, Wren, Hospitality Diane, Agility Gate Kristina, & Trailer Transport Susan/Steve for all of their hard work. I could not do it without you all. Additional Thanks to Kristina Johnson for designing the fabulous event shirts. Thanks to all of the workers who filled all those ring positions each day. With out all of you we could not have kept the trial running so smoothly. Thanks to Lisa & Debbie for doing such a wonderful job with the Jr Handler raffle. All their hard work did not go unnoticed. Over the weekend they earned over $1300 for the JH Program. 👏🏻 Thanks to Ron Boe for taking all of the wonderful action photos all weekend long. Roughly 8000 photos were taken over the weekend WOW. Some getting their 1st qualifying run, some getting their 1st title, & some earning multiples. The dogs/handlers who earned the Best in Class awards earned the most Qs in the Elite, Open, Novice, or Intro classes over the weekend. The dog/handler who earned the High in Trial award earned the most Qs over all. Message from the President . . . A quick reminder about private Patch use: This is a privately owned facility. Membership in the Club does not give everyone free access to use it at their discretion. If there is equipment set, do NOT mess with it. If your dog fouls the equipment, CLEAN IT UP!!!! All private use of the Patch needs to be run up through Alice Nicholson. The cost is $25 per hour. She can be reached at awonder@.... If you do not see your rental of the Patch on the Jumping Chollas calendar, found at our website, you are TRESPASSING. We have a very effective and efficient mechanism for Patch rental. Please use it! To reiterate: IF YOU ARE DELIBERATELY SNEAKING OUT TO THE PATCH, AND DO NOT DO SO THROUGH THE APPROPRIATE CHANNELS, YOU ARE TRESPASSING IF CAUGHT, YOUR PRIVILEGES WLL BE REVOKEDI! As it seems that there are too many people that have the gate code, apparently we need to change it. The selfishness of a few I believe requires it! If you feel you need it, outside of our key personnel and instructors, please let me know at ccoonrad@... I'm sorry for the necessity of this email, as I firmly believe in the best intentions of our fantastic members. Members of Jumping Chollas got together, painted one of our trailers gold, and added this image on the west side of one of the trailers. We LOVE it! Thanks to everyone who played a part in making this happen!

I wanted to let everyone know that our January K9 Cares AKC trial was really successful. The trial generated a profit to JCAC of $1812, and a donation to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Pet Therapy Program in Myra Judd’s memory in the amount of $4829. This includes a donation from our judges of $600, and they also made a nice donation to our worker’s raffle. On behalf of JCACGP, I want to thank everyone again who helped make this trial so special. Thank you to each and every one of you who helped in both big and little ways to make the K9 Cares AKC show a great success this past weekend. The show this year was dedicated to themory of our dear friend and Jumping Chollas club member Myra Judd. Myra was going to haveen chair of this show. And today would have been her birthday. I can't think of a better birthday gift to give her than a weekend full of so many people showing so much kindness, cooperation, volunteerism, hard work, and just plain fun with our dogs. Thank you to everyone who came early to set up, and stayed late to tear down. Thank you to those who generously contributed prizes for the workers' raffle. Thank you to those who worked tirelessly to keep the rings, the score table, and the raffle running. Thank you to those who weren't even running a dog, but just came out to help, and to honor Myra. Thank you to our judges who developed so many nice courses, and adapted so readily to our crazy Covid schedule. Thank you to all of the exhibitors who went with the flow, and put up with a bit of confusion as we figured out how to make a limited gathering and socially distanced two-ring show work. Thank you for wearing your masks, keeping your distance, and minimizing your time at the site. These efforts will help ensure our continued use of Sahuaro Ranch Park. I hope everyone went home with a few ribbons, Qs, or raffle prizes; but far more importantly, I hope you went home with personal victories and success for you and your dog, with fun memories, and with strengthened friendships. A portion of the proceeds from this show will be donated in Myra's name to Phoenix Children's Hospital Pet Therapy Program--another passion of Myra's where she volunteered countless hours.
