  • Pet Expo 2018

Those who are involved with the Jumping Chollas Agility Club should be very proud of the people you work and train with! On Saturday and Sunday, May 26-27, 2018 the following people gave of their time to provide a highly enjoyable and entertaining two days: Thank you Sue Boe, who organized the booth at West World. Thanks to Billie Rosen for setting up the volunteers and as a mediator with the Pet Expo organization. Thanks to Lisa Esquivel, Patty Meadows, Judy Weinstein, Lisa Shelton, Carol Ketcherside, Jeannie Lovell, Joanne Souza, Amy Wood, Rich Phillips, Joanie Peterson, Linda Jacobs, Anne Allen and Illyse Stern for coming and bringing their dogs for a demonstration of how all different breeds can learn agility. Thanks to my husband Jim for helping set the ring and directing the public into the ring for their agility participation. Thank you Anne Justice-Allen and Linda Jacobs for transporting equipment to and from the Patch. Thank you Ilyse and Anne for joining me at the Channel 3 television interview early Sunday morning - A special shout-out to Diane Kramer who may need to take up another career as announcer, because her descriptions of the demonstration's, the helpfulness to the public with their attempts at the tunnel, and keeping attention directed to the JCAC booth was instrumental in making our activity one of the most successful at the Pet Expo this year! I expect our classes to be larger next year if the number of people asking for information and going home with our brochures is any indication! Great job everyone!! #PetExpo #2018

  • Barkfest Peoria!

On March 24th, an all-female team of several JCAC members and their dogs, set up a small ring at Sonoran Mountain Ranch Park in Peoria to do three 15 minute agility demos for the public at Peoria's 2018 Barkfest between 8 and 11 AM. JCAC members with dogs were Yvette Cook, Christine Gibson, Monica Garrett, Lisa Shelton, Sylvia Dorosh, Ruth Armstrong and Lou with Aussies. Sharon who owns Afghans, but didn't bring them, came out to support the club as well. The public, including JCAC members, were treated to FREE coffees, yummy homemade donuts and free photo booth pics. Lots of fun and a great opportunity to practice with our dogs. In exchange for helping the city of Peoria by showing up at their first Barkfest, the city is going to give JCAC a free weekend use of Paseo Verde Park - worth about $750! That's a major savings for JCAC thanks to these dedicated club members!! THANKS PEORIA and THANKS ladies! #Peoria #Barkfest

You can download these events to your own calendar. ~ Information has been reorganized and it's hoped - easier to find. ~ The site is less text heavy and the colour scheme is lighter. ~ It has a blog / news tab where we will post announcements and changes and these will be searchable via tags and categories. ~ Changes, updates, and news can easily be linked to the club's Facebook account so you'll also see more activity on our Facebook page. If you have any questions, feedback or updates, please email the new Webmaster at jcacagility@gmai;.com. #Website #Updates #forms

  • New Webmaster

Jumping Chollas members, instructors, students and followers: Please welcome to Jumping Chollas, SYLVIA DOROSH, our new webmaster, who is working diligently to get our new website up and ready for launch!!! We want to give many, many thanks to Jeannine Doepke and Wendy Wells who have “been in the trenches” for years, providing access to the information on the JCAC website, premiums and results and work behind the scenes. Both women will be staying on for a little while longer as Sylvia puts the finishing touches on the new website, but once that happens they will no longer be working on the web. Having said that, the new JCAC website will look different, so don’t panic over changes. As with everything in our world, some changes occur every day and this will be one of them, so be patient and work with us as we launch the new site. I hope you will make Sylvia feel welcome (she runs Vizslas and comes from Canada), and if you haven’t met her, she will be at the Club Meeting on January 8!!
